8 Facts and a Fib
Read pgs. 32-45. Write 8 complete sentences that tell a fact about frogs or toads. Then, write a complete sentence that tells a fib, or lie, about frogs or toads. Record your sentences on a sheet of paper. You will find some examples for past students' comments.
Example:
1. When tadpoles body's start to change, they spend more time near the surface of the water they're swimming in.
2. Tadpoles use their tongue to scrape algae off rocks and logs.
3. Bullfrog tadpoles take up to two years to turn into a small frog.
4. Small frogs and tadpoles can be prey to water beetles, fish, birds, and other frogs.

Diary of a Frog
Read pgs. 24-31. Use these pages to create a diary about how frogs survive in their environment. Use facts you learned to create an accurate experience of a day in the life of a frog. Remember, when writing a diary, you need to take on the role as the frog. Then, type each page and illustrate a picture supporting your entry. Be sure to include a page cover, title page, and glossary in the back. Be creative! I'll laminate your books if you'd like.
P.S. - Your diary should contain at least 5 entries. Think about the Diary of a Worm, Spider, and Fly series, to create your diary.

Student-Created Questions
Read pgs. 10-23. What adaptations enable different species of frogs to survive? Create test questions about the adaptations. Use the handout to record questions on the frogs. Then, cut out each frog. Place in a ziplock bag to exchange with another student.
*** You can ask your teacher for copies of the frog template to write your thick questions.
